• Cardiac First Response Course

Our Cardiac First Response (CFR) is recognised by the Pre-hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC).

It teaches the basics of First Aid / life support skills for victims of stroke; cardiac arrest; heart attack; choking as well as the relevant legal issues and the administration of aspirin.

This course is a pre-requisite for Emergency First Response (EFR) courses, It is also a great stand alone course for those working in or near premises considering installing an automated external defibrillator (AED) on-site as well as those who already have one.

We provide Cardiac First Response Training publicly in Sligo and can run the course on-site in Sligo, Leitrim, Donegal, Mayo or Roscommon.

This PHECC approved course equips the Learner with the necessary knowledge and skill to be able to recognise and treat the 4 major life threatening conditions as listed below:

  1. Heart attack
  2. Cardiac arrest
  3. FBAO/Choking
  4. Stroke

Each learner will undergo intensive training on the recognition of a heart attack and the administration of Aspirin, how to perform CPR and use an AED. There will also be a strong emphasis on the relief of choking in both a conscious and an unconscious casualty. Stroke recognition and the FAST principle are also discussed in detail.

Upon completion of the course each student will undergo a written examination and will be issued a PHECC/IHF CFR course completion card that is valid for 2 years.

If you are unable to attend in order to secure a refund you must notify us at least 72 hours in advance. Otherwise course fees will not be refunded but we may at our discretion be able to offer you a place on an alternative date.
