Driver CPC was introduced across the EU from 10th September 2008 for professional bus drivers and 10th September 2009 for professional truck drivers. The objective is to set and maintain high standards of road safety, health and safety and driving among professional drivers.
If you have your bus licence on or before the 9th September 2008, or your truck licence on or before 9th September 2009, you are automatically entitled to CPC training. This is called ‘acquired rights’. For more information on acquired rights visit the RSA website.
In order to keep your Driver CPC in accordance with the regulations (EU Directive 2003/59/EC and SI No 359), you must complete 35 hours of periodic training over five years. Training is on a one day per year basis.
If you have already commenced Driver CPC training you can now view your CPC Training Record online through the RSA My CPC Driver Portal.
Our public courses are available in Sligo, Roscommon, Galway, Wexford and Kildare. We also work with organisations where possible.
